Quality Health is essential component of DevCon’s overall development programs with key focus on Mother, Newborn and Child Health. DevCon follows holistic approach i-e capacity building of Health Care Providers , contributes in Health System Strengthening , up gradation and refurbishment of health facilities, behavioral change of children & parents to adopt best health practices in order to improve their health status. Besides, DevCon mobilize community in order to promotes the idea of community ownership of health facilities for quality assurance and sustainability through its Partnership Defined Quality Initiatives Approach.

Approach of Intervention

School Health & Nutrition

DevCon has developed modules and educated 41825 children about hygiene and nutrition. Similarly, 24325 children have been de wormed to get rid of worm infestation and other related diseases in District Sanghar.

Mother & Neo-Natal Child Healthcare

DevCon has built capacity of 1162 Lady Health workers and 102 male volunteers on Support Group Methodology in district Khairpur, Sanghar and Tando Allahyar. Approximately 66,442 women and men were educated on MNCH issues. Moreover, 145 LHWs have been trained on Community Based Integrated Management of Newborn and Child Health Illnesses (CIMNCI). Besides, we have trained 70 Health Care Providers on Helping Baby Breath Techniques. Furthermore, 33 Health Care Providers were trained on Essential and Newborn Care, Infection Prevention. DevCon has conducted Eleven (11) Day Clinical Course on Integrated Management of Newborn and Childhood Illnesses for Health Care Providers and various other trainings. MNCH-KAP survey (Pre & Post) was conducted through third party to measure the change in life of mother & newborn which showed improvement in MNCH Indicators.
